Synopsis

Members of the Minority Orchestra have been busking for three years since their high school days. These five youngsters in their twenties each play the accordion, trumpet, trombone, alto saxophone, and drums in the band. They prefer busking in the Ueno Park to playing in live houses, because they can feel the audience response directly and meet various people whom they would’ve never met otherwise. These cheerful youngsters play the music of Slavic minority ethnic groups to win the heart of people on the street. Saying that they are happy with their choice of instrument and the harmony the band creates, they draw their musical inspiration from the people they meet on the street, and have the best time of their life playing the music. Their simple, genuine wish is to keep busking. The film depicts the communication between these street musicians and their audience on the street. (Park Sun-young)

  Geurim was born in Busan, Korea, in 1984. She received the Grand Prize at the 2nd Busan Public Access Festival with her work, Starry Starry Night (2007). Her 2007 scenario A Change of Season won an award for excellence in short film scenario contest of Busan Asian Short Film Festival.
