International Competition is a section where we can read the trends of various documentaries produced in the world last year. In this year’s International Competition of the DMZ Docs, 910 films from 104 countries were submitted and a total of 13 films were selected, including two short films and 11 feature films, after the preliminary examination. The films selected this year not only captured the contemporary international issues of neoliberalism, Syrian civil war, refugee issues and others, but also reflected on the matter of form regarding the issues in modern society such as death, labor, family, prostitution, etc.
