Synopsis

In 2007, a group of men began planning to construct the largest building in the world– a gigantic pyramid. They envisioned a tomb for the ashes of one billion dead people built on a field in East Germany. features a group of eccentrics who woke up one morning with a huge idea. Instead of getting on with their lives, they decided to see it through. This is the story of their dream, about how they thought they could single - handedly save the German economy; the story of the people who helped them and the people who hated them.

  • Frauke Finsterwalder
    Frauke Finsterwalder was born in 1975 in Hamburg, Germany, and spent some of her high school years in the USA. Later on, while studying German literature and history at Humboldt University in Berlin, she worked for several theaters such as Maxim-Gorki-Theater and Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg- Platz. Since 2001 she worked as an editor for German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung until 2003, then she started studying film directing at renowned film school Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film Munich (HFF). Her film was nominated for the renowed Max-Ophüls-Preis.
