Synopsis
A historical neighborhood of Hanoi is being entirely demolished. Huy and Quyen, two forty-year-old migrant workers are hired to tear down houses. Sleeping on the street, despised by the urban population, harassed by thieves, racketed by local gangsters, their life seems to be like hell.
Despite the hardship, the workers manage to enjoy this life far away from their family. With humor and self mockery, they turn this hellish situation into an absurd comedy.
After six months of intense work, the Lunar New Year is approaching, it's time for them to collect the wages due from their boss, a vain Hanoian businessman. If not, they will face the shame of returning to their village penniless.
