Synopsis

Thousands of young people are dying because of drugs in Kachin State, Myanmar. When the government is indifferent and not doing enough to crack down the drugs problem, the civilians formed an anti-drugs organization in 2014 called “Pat Jasan” which means “Stop and Clean drugs” in local Kachin language.
When “Pat Jasan” civilians started to take action against drugs dealers and drugs addicts, there is a big clash between civil anti-drugs group and drugs lords. To make it worse, the corrupted authorities are on the side of drugs lords and creating many problems for anti-drugs activists civilians.

  • John La Raw
    I am John La Raw, a Myanmar citizen and a MFA filmmaking student at Chung Ang University Seoul. I produced and directed 4 videos in Myanmar and; wrote and directed one short film, “The Confession” as a student project which won “The award of Excellence” at Accolade Global Film Competition and got “The best short film award” at International Catholic film festivals in Rome, Italy. It is a finalist in three film festivals and selected in many other film festivals. I am now preparing to shoot “The Opium War” documentary film.
