60 Years since the Korean War-All about the Wars

Synopsis

During the 30 years of Saddam Hussein’s Baath regime in Iraq, thousands of Iraqi Kurdsand Shiites were either killed or disappeared. Around 182,000 people lost their lives when 4,500 villages and townships were destroyed in Kirkuk, Soleimanieh, Dahoukand Erbil regions in an effort to exterminate the Kurds and Arabize Kurdistan. The discovery 24 years later of one of the mass graves in the southern deserts of Iraq became the basis of a movie describing the living conditions of those left behind in villages in habited mostly by mothers, daughters, wives and sisters of the victims.

  • Ebrahim Saeedi
    Born in 1965 in Mahabad, Kurdistan of Iran. Saeedi has a B.A. in Cinema from Arts University in Tehran. After graduating from college he pursued a career in movieediting, directing and photographing in about 100 different kinds of films. He also edited 5 Features. is his first feature length documentary in which he worked for more than3years.

  • Zahavi Sanjavi
    Zahavi Sanjavi was born in Arbil, Kurdistan, Iraq in 1967. In 1975, he sought asylum in Iran along with his family as a result of war which broke out in Kurdistan, Iraq. He pursued his studies in Sweden and Russia in the field of script writing and filmmaking. He hold sa M.Sc. in filmmaking from the University of Cinemain Moscow. He returned to Iraq in 2005 after an absence of 30 years, of being an immigrant and a refugee. He is now active in making feature and TV films as script writer and filmmaker.
