Synopsis

Between 1980 and 1992, El Salvador endured a civil war. ARENA, the right-wing party which arose in 1981 amid armed conflict, has held the presidency of the Republic since 1989. Now it must reinvent itself after twenty years in power in order to win the presidential elections of 15 March 2009. The elections continue the old struggle, but now it is at the ballot box. Never before in the history of El Salvador has the Left been so close to seizing power through democratic means.

  He studied Sociology in Salamanca University and Film Edition in Madrid Film School. At the moment, he works as editor in TV, films and commercials. He has also directed several short films awarded in film festivals around the world.

• José Luis Sanz
  

  Born in 1974 in Valencia, Sapin. He is a Journalist with more than ten years experience reporting in El Salvador, where he lives. He has also worked for several media in Central America and Spain. Until January 2009, he was Information Chief at La Prensa Gráfica, the main newspaper in El Salvador. Today he is professor at the José Simeón Centralamerican University (UCA) and at José Matías Delgado University, both based in El Salvador.
