Synopsis

The lives of a cowboy and a communist collide when Walter Potts, an artist and chef from LA opens his late night burlesque burger bar, ‘White Trash Fast Food’ in the bottom floor of an East Berlin apartment block where East German journalist Horst Woitalla has lived since the Communist era. Horst is determined to close down ‘White Trash Fast Food’ and take back something he lost when the Berlin Wall fell.

  Jess has twelve years experience in documentary development, research and directing. During that time, she has worked on a range of arts and youth programme sand social documentaries. She has travelled extensively and lived in Berlin for two years over which time she shot her first independent documentary feature “Cowboys & Communists”. She currently lives in Wellington, New Zealand where she works for a company developing museum exhibitions.
