Synopsis
The Story of STRAW is an inspiring 35 minute film about students and teachers who restore a watershed. The film traces the project from its origins in 1992 as a fourth grade class-project to its development into a remarkable program that has restored over 20 miles of habitat, galvanized the local community, and led to significant educational innovation.

David DonnenfieldDavid Donnenfield received his B.A. in Film from UCLA and M.A. in Educational Technology from SF State University. until moving to San Francisco in 1980. Since that time, he has freelanced and owned his own media production company, oddly enough, named David Donnenfield Productions.
In 2009, he was awarded the Harold Gilliam Award for Excellence in Environmental Journalism by The Bay Institute for his film, A Simple Question — The Story of STRAW. -
Kevin WhiteAfter receiving a BA in Philosophy at the American University in Paris, and graduate school at Stanford and San Francisco State, Kevin worked as a freelancer for Granada Television, CBS news, KEMO Television and other broadcasters. In 1984, Kevin started Full Frame Productions – a full –service commercial film and video production Company Some of Kevin’s selected credits include Not All Parents Are Straight, which was shown at the Berlin Film Festival, American Film Festival, and aired nationally on PBS, and won the Golden Gate Award from the San Francisco Film Festival.
