Synopsis

In Angeles City, Philippines, sex workers and mixed-race children abound due to sex tourism. We get a closer look of this place and, at the same time, we try to get inside the psyche of two women: AMY, a former sex worker and BLONDIE, Amy's half-German daughter. They're mirroring each other-Amy shows the past, Blondie shows the possible future. BLONDIE is now at a crossroads. She is trying to finish High school but she's also working in a bar as a cashier. Her one foot is in school, her other foot is in the bar. Will she be able to live a different life or will she follow in the footsteps of her mother?

  Pabelle Manikan
  

  Pabelle is documentary filmmaker based in Manila, Philippines. Her first documentary Dawn of Hope(2012) was screened in prestigious local festivals. She has also edited full-length documentaries that were awarded internationally, one of which is Crescent Rising(2016), which won Best Documentary at BIFF. Her main goal is to keep creating cinematic documentary films with social relevance.
